How to download Facebook user data on a computer




If you want to download your Facebook user data on a computer (Windows or Mac), you can follow these steps:


Step 1: Log in to Facebook and go to Settings




Open your web browser and go to . Enter your email or phone number and password to log in to your Facebook account. Then, click on the arrow icon at the top right corner of the page and select Settings & Privacy from the drop-down menu. Then, click on Settings.


Step 2: Click on Your Facebook Information and View




On the left sidebar, click on Your Facebook Information. This will show you a list of options to access, download, or delete your Facebook user data. Click on View next to Download Your Information.


Step 3: Select the data categories and date range




On the Download Your Information page, you can choose what categories of data you want to download, such as posts, photos, videos, messages, comments, likes, reactions, friends, groups, events, pages, etc. You can also select the date range of the data, such as all of your data, last year, last month, or a custom range. You can also choose the format (HTML or JSON) and the media quality (high, medium, or low) of the downloaded file. By default, all categories are selected and the format is HTML and the quality is high.


To deselect a category, click on the check mark next to it. To select a category, click on the empty box next to it. To expand a category and see more options, click on the arrow next to it. For example, if you click on the arrow next to Posts, you can choose to include or exclude your posts from specific apps or platforms.


Step 4: Click on Request Download and wait for notification




Once you have selected the data categories and date range that you want to download, click on Request Download at the bottom of the page. You will be asked to enter your password for security reasons. Then, click on Submit.


You will see a message that says "Your information is being processed". This means that Facebook is creating a copy of your user data based on your request. Depending on the amount of data and the traffic on Facebook's servers, this may take some time (from a few minutes to several hours or days). You will receive a notification via email and on Facebook when your download is ready.


Step 5: Click on Download and enter your password




When you receive the notification that your download is ready, go back to the Download Your Information page and click on Available Copies. You will see a list of files that you have requested to download. Click on Download next to the file that you want to download. You will be asked to enter your password again for security reasons. Then, click on Submit.


Your browser will start downloading a ZIP file that contains your Facebook user data in HTML format. The file name will be "facebook-yourname.zip", where "yourname" is your Facebook username. The file size will vary depending on how much data you have requested.
